Lord Ram’s Temple Ayodhya: A 500-Year Wait Comes to an End
In India Millions of devotees celebrate a historic moment. They cherish Lord Ram’s and his teachings. After 500 years of waiting, builders completed the Ram Temple in Ayodhya at Ram Janmabhoomi. This temple symbolizes faith, devotion, and truth’s triumph. It now houses two divine forms of Lord Ram: his Child form and his Royal King form.
Lord Ram’s Pran Pratishthapana
The first form, the child Ram, was sanctified in the temple on January 22, 2024 and on June 5, 2025 second form of Lord Ram as Raja Ramchandra, the great king. This means that the idols have been given “life” through a special religious ceremony called Pran Pratishthapana. This is a very important ritual because after this, the idols are no longer just idols but become living forms of the gods.
This marks the end of a long exile for Lord Ram as just like he spent 14 years in exile in the old times, this temple took 500 years to be ready for him.

Along with Lord Ram, the idols of Mata Sita, his wife, and his three brothers, Laxman, Bharat, and Shatrughan, as well as Lord Hanuman, the great devotee and warrior, were also sanctified in the temple. These idols are made of beautiful white marble and are placed in a way that shows the loving and protective family of Lord Ram together.

Ceremony Details:
The ceremony started at 11:40 AM in the morning with priests chanting sacred mantras. During the ritual, the priests removed blindfolds from the eyes of the idols. This is a very special moment called “Pratibimb Darshan” or mirror viewing, where the idols see their own reflections for the first time after being “awakened.” It brings the divine power and life into the idols.
The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, was present for this ceremony. It was also a very special day for him because of is his birthday and he turned 53 years old. So, there were two celebrations happening at the same time, the birthday of a leader Yogi Adityanath and the historic sanctification of the Lord Ram as Raja Ramchandra.

The Royal Court of Lord Ram: Meaning Behind the Ram Sabha:
This Royal Court event inside the temple is called the “Ram Sabha” or “Ram Attalika”. In the time of the Ramayana, this was the name given to the royal court or the assembly where Lord Ram used to meet his ministers and advisors. It reminds us of the times when Lord Ram ruled as a kind king.
The whole temple complex is very beautiful and peaceful. The main temple building and the area around it, known as “Parkota,” have many other idols of gods and goddesses. On the same day, idols of Lord Shiva (in the form of Shivalinga), Lord Ganesh, Lord Hanuman, the Sun God (Suraya Dev), Goddess Bhagwati, and Goddess Annapurna were also sanctified.
PM Modi’s Presence
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present at the earlier ceremony in January 2024, where priests sanctified the child form of Lord Ram in the temple through the ritual of Pran Pratishthapana. This event was a momentous occasion not only for the people of Ayodhya but for millions of devotees across India and the world. Those who were fortunate enough to attend described the experience as deeply emotional and unforgettable. The air was charged with a powerful sense of spirituality and reverence.
The story of the Ram Temple is not just about building a beautiful place of worship. It is also about many years of struggle, sacrifice, and patience. For centuries, devotees of Lord Ram waited to build a temple on the exact place where Lord Ram was born. Many fought hard, faced challenges, and some even gave their lives to protect this dream.
In the early 1990s, Ram devotees faced violence while working to protect their sacred site. Many brave people sacrificed their lives in this fight. This shows how deeply people love Lord Ram and how much this temple means to them
